Snap Secure Mobile, Personal and Family Security App Launches in Russia as “Data Safe”
SnapOne, Inc. and VimpelCom, the 9th largest wireless operator in the world, partner to offer the most complete security solution for Android phones in Russia
PRINCETON, N.J., September 12, 2013 – Snap Secure® (www.MySnapSecure.com), SnapOne, Inc.’s rapidly growing cloud-service mobile and personal security application, is now available in Russia through Beeline, a subsidiary of VimpelCom, the largest wireless operator in Eastern Europe.
VimpelCom has begun marketing the Russian language version of the Snap Secure-Beeline co-branded product as “Data Safe,” making it available for download on Android smartphones (version 2.3 and above). This marks the start of a new business model for SnapOne, Inc. reaching individuals and families through a co-branded offering in partnership with mobile operators and service providers. As a convenience, subscription fees for the product will be billed automatically to users’ Beeline mobile service bills.
Snap Secure (“Data Safe”) is a cloud-service application that provides a broad range of protection for wireless devices and their users, including data backup and restoration; virus, spyware and spam prevention; privacy management and protection; real-time tracking and location of family members; remote location and control of lost or stolen phones and tablets; and remote data wipe capability.
“We are pleased to offer our customers a service that has many useful features and will help to protect and preserve users’ personal information,” said Catherine Ogneva, Head of Information and Entertainment Services at VimpelCom.
With more than 55 million subscribers in Russia, Beeline commands a nearly one-fourth share of the mobile market. The new partnership gives Snap Secure a strong foothold in Russia, the largest mobile market in Europe, and allows SnapOne, Inc. an opportunity to learn about mobile security concerns in this fast-growing market and tailor its offerings to evolving and diverse geographical needs.
“The rapid adoption of mobile technology around the world continues to fuel demand for a security solution that protects both users and their data,” said Jiren Parikh, President and CEO of SnapOne, Inc. “We’re excited to launch this new business model and offer our comprehensive data and family security solution in the Russian market to Beeline subscribers.”
